We, the Daido Metal Group (hereafter ‘we’), are contributing to society, increasing corporate value and contributing to global society by fulfilling our corporate social responsibility by respecting human rights and complying with legal requirements.
In order to protect the human rights of all stakeholders affected by our business activities and to continually improve, we will continue to address human rights as set out in the ‘Daido Metal Group Human Rights Policy’ (hereafter ‘the policy’).
We are aware that that there might a direct or indirect impact on human rights through our business activities, and we take care not to infringe the human rights of our employees and business partners, or global society affected by our products, services or business activities.
Furthermore, we will work with our employees, business partners, and those directly involved in our products and services etc. to ensure that their human rights are protected and not violated.
As well as complying with the laws of each country and region we will maximise compliance with international norms such as the ‘International Bill of Human Rights’ and the International Labor Organization’s ‘Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work’, refer to the United Nations’ ‘Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights’ and put them into practice.
Where there is a contradiction between internationally recognised human rights and regional laws as a general rule we will seek a method that complies with international human rights.
This policy applies to everyone who works for the Daido Metal Group. Furthermore, we ask our business partners and other parties directly involved in our products and services to understand this policy, and with the aim of mutual development we practice fair trade and strive for coexistence and co-prosperity.
In order to prevent and mitigate negative impacts on human rights that may be caused through our business activities, evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives, and explain and disclose information on how we dealt with them, the Sustainability Committee develops and continuously implements mechanisms and procedures for the due diligence for human rights.
If our business activities negatively impact on human rights or are found to have contributed to a negative impact, correction, improvement and prevention recurrence measures are needed.
Furthermore, we will establish and promote a grievance mechanism in order to deal with complaints at an early stage and correct the issue.
To ensure that this policy takes hold in our business activities, as well as reflecting it in important procedures, all employees of the Daido Group will undergo appropriate training, and their understanding of the policy will be checked to ensure its effectiveness.
Where there is a potential or actual impact on human rights, we will discuss with a third party with expertise in human rights and depending on the situation consult with relevant stakeholders.
We will periodically disclose information on our website regarding the progress and results of our efforts to protect human rights.
This policy was approved by the Board of Directors.
