The recognition is a joint certification given by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Nippon Kenko Kaigi (health promotion organization).

Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations are those enterprises, large or small, who engage in notable initiatives that address regional health issues and health promotion measures recommended by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi.
